Analytical and numerical solutions to classical rotor designs

چکیده

About a century ago, two different rotor models were proposed by Joukowsky (1912–1918) and Betz (1919). Both based on assumptions regarding the vortex structures of wake its induction plane. However, due to complications formulating behavior into actual guidelines for aerodynamic design geometry, have until now not been used industrial wind turbine rotors. In this article, we propose technique solve analytically problem models, which enables We briefly present theory behind show how can be exploited make designs planforms, i.e. chord- twist-distributions. The are three-bladed rotors optimized tip speed ratios analyzed comparing their performance results using blade-element/momentum lifting line theory.

Numerical-analytical solutions of predator-prey models

This paper deals with the construction of piecewise analytic approximate solutions for nonlinear initial value problems modeled by a system of nonlinear ordinary differential equations. In real world several biological and environmental parameters in the predator-prey model vary in time. Thus, non-autonomous systems are important to be studied. We show the effectiveness of the method for autono...

Numerical Solutions of Classical Equations of Motion

Exact analytical solutions of the equations of motion exist only for simple systems, of the types that are discussed in elementary classical mechanics courses, and therefore numerical integration methods are very important in practice. Here we will discuss some commonly used differential equation solvers and use them to study the dynamics of mechanical systems, including ones that exhibit chaot...

Oceanic age and transient tracers: Analytical and numerical solutions

[1] Transient tracers and the closely related ‘‘age’’ tracers exhibit a rich physical and mathematical structure even for problems of one space dimension. This richness tends to make interpretation of observations, which are inevitably thin in both space and time, difficult, in contrast to the situation in modeling studies. At least six different timescales and corresponding space scales can ap...

Annular flow of viscoelastic fluids: Analytical and numerical solutions

This work provides analytical and numerical solutions for the linear, quadratic and exponential Phan–Thien–Tanner (PTT) viscoelastic models, for axial and helical annular fully-developed flows under no slip and slip boundary conditions, the latter given by the linear and nonlinear Navier slip laws. The rheology of the three PTT model functions is discussed together with the influence of the sli...
